The NPR review title suggests that even dog-lovers would like The Guest Cat by Takashi Hiraide. It doesn't mention "people who travel too much to own a pet" however with only a 140 page commitment, I would take the plunge. Judging from the country's high book sales, it seems the French have already taken to it, so we're loosely continuing our Parisian theme with a slight detour via Japan. Happy reading!
